With funding from the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, WHITR-AP Beijing will host the training program on “Capacity Building for International World Natural Heritage Sites and Potential Areas.” The project aims to share China’s advanced experience and technical methods in the conservation and management of World Natural Heritage Sites and potential sites. It seeks to collaborate with countries along terrestrial borders and migratory bird flyways—particularly those in the Asia region—to jointly explore potential solutions to universal challenges such as climate change and the unsustainable consumption of natural resources. The initiative also aims to promote the sharing of technical expertise and international cooperation among countries involved or along migratory bird flyways in addressing natural and marine environmental issues. The project is expected to train fifteen participants from relevant regions in 2021 and produce reports and promotional materials based on the outcomes of the training and exchanges, with a total budget of 600,000 yuan.
