
As a UNESCO Category 2 Institute, World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (WHITRAP) is a non-profit organization engaged in the research, training and education of world heritage, as well as the first UNESCO Category 2 Institute of heritage conservation in developing countries. WHITRAP follows the innovative institutional operation model of "one management committee, one secretariat and three sub-centers", and has set up three sub-centers in Peking University, Tongji University, and Suzhou Landscape Architecture Bureau, with the secretariat currently located in Shanghai. WHITRAP Beijing is mainly responsible for research and training on the conservation and management of natural heritage, cultural landscape, and archaeological sites.
In 2024, WHITRAP Beijing is looking for high caliber students to join our internship program, interested parties are welcome to apply.
1.Design Intern
Main responsibility includes poster and graphic visual design, requires proficiency in Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop and other word or image processing software. Students who are responsible, creative, and artistic are welcome to apply. Priority will be given to those with drawing skills.
2.Operation Intern
Main responsibility includes assisting in research projects, daily administrative affairs and organization of academic activities. Senior undergraduate or graduate students majoring in cultural heritage, museum studies, architecture, urban planning, sociology, anthropology, archaeology, international relations, etc., as well as students from other professional backgrounds with strong interest in cultural heritage are welcome to apply.
3. English editor intern
Main responsibility includes Chinese-English translation and proofreading of daily administrative and academic documents, native English speakers or English majors are preferred.
II. Application Requirements
1. Law-abiding students of all nationality with good endeavor and positive working attitude.
2. Senior undergraduate students or above, students enrolled at Peking University are preferred.
3. Proficiency in both Chinese and English is preferred.
4. Highly devoted to work and team oriented, immediate and long-term availability is preferred.
5. At least 3 half-days a week for the position of Operation Intern.
6. Portfolio is required for Design Intern.
1. Extensive exposure to cultural heritage, museums, architecture, archaeology and other relevant disciplines, and abundant cross-discipline learning and exchange opportunities.
2. Internship subsidy will comply with Peking University student assistant standard, internship certificates may be awarded to outstanding students.
